PRESENTATION

La Gaume buissonnière, created in 1986, is a circular permanent route of 206 km that traverses the Gaume, mainly by field tracks and through forests.  ‘La Gaume buissonnière’ (‘the Gaume playing truant’)? Yes, for from time to time the route slips into France or the Ardennes.  On the way, it offers you an unusual and picturesque Gaume. This wonderful countryside with its rich soil is covered in landscapes alternating between proud stands of leafy trees and meadows lit by generous sunshine. It uncovers a history narrowly connected with the cuestas, east-west hilly ridges that remind one of flocks of sheep.  Allow yourself to be impressed by the witnesses from its many-faceted past, formed, among others, by geological hazard : the ancient forges and their clear ponds, the rural museum of Montquintin, the archeological site of Montauban, Orval Abbey

You’re invited by the friendliness and hospitality of its people to a chat over the hedge, at the table of an inn, a gîte … where you can also enjoy the originality, quality and variety of the products of the region.
